Signing should be the calm part

CalmSign is an e-signature tool built around one idea: the moment two people agree is the quietest moment in a deal, and the software should match it.

Why we built it

Electronic signing was solved a long time ago. What happened next is that the tools around it kept growing. A product that once emailed a link and returned a signed PDF became a sales platform with dashboards, sequences, seat tiers, and an envelope counter that made you think twice before sending a two-page NDA. The signature — the part that actually matters — ended up buried under everything sold alongside it.

CalmSign is a deliberate step back. Build the document, send the link, get a sealed copy. Both parties keep an identical record, and the record carries its own evidence: a SHA-256 hash over the signed snapshot, plus an audit trail of who opened it, when, from which IP address and browser. If anyone ever disputes the document, that trail is the answer, and it is there whether you pay us or not.

The rest follows from that. No account for signers, because friction on their side is your problem too. No metered envelopes, because counting sends changes how people use a tool. No third-party trackers in the signing experience, because a person signing a contract is not an audience to be measured.

What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away

The proof is the product

A signature is only worth the evidence behind it. Every completed document carries a SHA-256 seal and a full audit trail — on the free plan as well as the paid ones. Proof is not an upsell.

Signing needs no account

Your recipient opens a link, reads, signs, and gets their copy. No sign-up wall, no password, no app. Asking someone to register before they can agree with you is a tax on your own deal.

Pricing you can predict

Flat monthly plans, not envelope quotas. $0 for five documents a month, $12 for unlimited, $29 for five seats with API and webhooks. Nobody has to count sends before hitting go.

Verifiable, not just asserted

We publish how the seal works so you can check it rather than take our word for it. If a single character changes after signing, the hash stops matching and the tampering shows.

What CalmSign is not

We are not a law firm and we give no legal advice. The templates on this site are drafting starting points, not vetted contracts — read the terms before you rely on one, and take advice when a document matters.

We are not the biggest e-signature vendor, and we do not claim certifications we have not earned. What we will do is describe our security honestly and in public: how the seal is generated, what the audit trail records, how data is encrypted, and what we keep and for how long. That is all on the security page and in the privacy policy, written to be read rather than to be linked to and forgotten.

CalmSign also has a sibling, CalmBackup, which applies the same thinking to a different chore: quiet, verifiable, no surprises on the invoice. Same family, same refusal to make a small job feel large.

Try it on one document

Five documents a month on the free plan, sealed and logged like every other. No credit card, no call.
